1 John 3:3
3And everyone who has this hope fixed on Him purifies himself, just as He is pure.
· V2 says that “when He appears, we will be like Him because we will see Him as He is. A right view of God is essential to righteous living before God and menActs24:14-16;Mark 6:20. This is in line with a truth put forth throughout the scriptures. Those people who know their God will display strength and take action Daniel 11:32To have a hope set in the proper place fixes the eyes in the proper place and if the eye is clear the whole body will be full of light Matt 6:22. Fixing our eyes on Jesus Heb12:2 and setting our minds on the things above Col 3:2 not looking at the things which are seen but the things which are unseen 2 Cor 4:18 gives the believer the proper trajectory so that they may know where their True Treasure lies, at the right hand of God, clothed in majesty and splendor, triumphant over death hell and the grave. While the world makes every attempt to make one forget about the day when we will see Him face to face1Cor 13:12, we must remember that the day of the Lord will come like a thief, in which the heavens will pass away with a roar and the elements will be destroyed with intense heat, and the earth and its works will be burned up2Pet3:10. According to His promise, we are looking for new heavens and a new earth, in which righteousness dwells 2 Pet 3:13. You therefore, beloved, knowing this beforehand, be on your guard so that you are not carried away by the error of unprincipled men and fall from your own steadfastness, but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ To Him be the glory, both now and to the day of eternity2 Pet 3:17-18 . Prepare your minds for action, keep sober in spirit, fix your hope completely on the grace to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ, knowing that you were not redeemed with perishable things like silver or gold from your futile way of life inherited from your forefathers, but with precious blood, as of a lamb unblemished and spotless, the blood of Christ. For He was foreknown before the foundation of the world, but has appeared in these last times for the sake of you who through Him are believers in God, who raised Him from the dead and gave Him glory, so that your faith and hope are in God. 1 Peter 1:13;18-21.
